In Guimarães, stroll through the “cradle of Portugal” or discover the wonderful pilgrim town of Lamego with its gothic cathedral and impressive flight of stairs. One of the special charms of this route is the subsequent short journey to north-western Spain, where you can walk in the footsteps of the pilgrims.

Day 1

  • Porto
  • Boarding from 17:00 to 19:00

Day 2

  • Porto / Caldas de Aregos
  • 14:30 – Guided tour to Porto, the birthplace of Porto, with wine tasting in a cellar (optional – see tours package)
  • Trip to Caldas de Aregos

Day 3

  • Caldas de Aregos / Pinhão
  • Guided tour to the village of Pinhão with visit to the famous Railway Station with its beautiful tiled panels
  • Visit to a Douro Wine Estate with lunch included
  • Tour to the magnificent baroque Palácio de Mateus in Vila Real with its beautiful gardens (optional – see tours package)

Day 4

  • Pinhão / Barca d’Alva / Vega Terrón
  • Tour to Castelo Rodrigo, one of Portugal’s historical parishes, with its castle ruins full of history (optional – see tours package)

Day 5

  • Barca d’Alva / Vega Terrón / Pocinho
  • Day trip to the Spanish university city of Salamanca with its impressive cathedral and Plaza Mayor with lunch included (optional tour – booking on board only possible)

Day 6

  • Pocinho / Régua
  • Tour to the pilgrimage town of Lamego with its impressive “Stairway to Heaven” and gothic cathedral (optional – see tour package)

Day 7

  • Régua / Porto
  • Tour to the “Birthplace of the Portuguese Nation” Guimarães” (optional tour – booking on board only possible)

Day 8

  • Porto
  • 9:00 – Disembark at Vila Nova de Gaia Quay
  • End of our services
