Carrapatelo Dam

The Carrapatelo dam is located on the border of the District of Porto and Viseu, respectively between the municipalities of Marco de Canaveses and Cinfães. Inaugurated in 1972 it was the first dam to be built on the national section of the Douro River.

This is the Douro dam with the largest unevenness, 35m, which makes the boat crossing through its lock an unforgettable experience.

It is situated at km 65 of the Douro waterway and is the second dam before the mouth of the Douro.

The Cruises that make the route between Porto and Régua pass through this dam.
