Travelling along the Douro line in CP’s historic train is like taking a trip back in time. A riverside route, marked by the beauty of the landscape. The steam locomotive 0186, built in 1925 by Henschel & Son and the 5 historic carriages, travel the distance from Régua station to Tua station in a unique journey into the past.

WARNING

CP - Comboios de Portugal informs that, in the 2026 season, the Douro Historic Train will run with a historic diesel locomotive from the 1960s, from the 1401-1467 series, painted in the original colors - blue, replacing the CP 0186 steam locomotive. This change is the result of a series of technical studies carried out by IP - Infraestruturas de Portugal, as part of the Douro Line modernization project.
